Ruddigore Ghost

Spring Show 2009 - Ruddigore

Our production for Spring 2009 will be Ruddigore, or  The Witch's Curse. Ruddigore is a marvelous parody of British melodrama and gothic novels.  It has curses, ghosts, evil baronets, and madwomen.  Robin Oakapple appears to be a mild mannered farmer, but is, in reality, Sir Ruthven Murgatroyd, on the run from the family curse.  His one goal is to marry the extremely innocent Rose Maybud.  Before he can, he is found out and exposed by his younger brother, and comes face to face with his gallery of ghostly ancestors who force him to commit his daily crime.  All turns out well with an ending only Gilbert could contrive.  The music is perfect to the story, and include beautiful madrigals and eerie haunts

Ruddigore will open Friday, March 13 and close Sunday April 5, 2009.  The show will play Fridays and Saturdays and 8:00 pm and Sundays at 2:00 pm.  There will be a special matinee at 3:00 Saturday, March 28.

Ruddigore will be directed by Lesley Hendrickson. The Music Director will be Lee Fuchs.
